The aesthetics of laminate flooring are beautiful and come in a variety of colours and textures, ranging from natural warm wood or a stained wood finish, to even darker finishes in a more rustic area.

What is Laminate Flooring Made of?

Laminate flooring is comprised of four layers of materials that have been fused together to create a durable and beautiful finish.

The first layer at the bottom is called backing and is a layer designed to protect against moisture, provide stability and prevent the warping of the flooring.

The next layer is the inner core, which is a high-density fibre board (HDF) of pressed wood that assists in keeping the floor stable and flat.

The third layer is the design layer, which an image film of the decors design. This is the layer that creates the pleasant aesthetic wooden finish.

The last layer is the top layer, known as the wear layer, which protects the laminate floor from scratches and wear.

What makes Hydrosafe Water Resistant?

o            Pretention in the click system.  This pretention is pulling boards tight together, making it already very difficult for humidity to penetrate the joint.

o            During installation extra protection of the perimeter can be achieved by using the foamstrip and silicone to fill up the expansiongaps.

Water Resistant Laminate Flooring

Water-resistant laminate flooring is a great alternative to use in areas that are exposed to moisture And can be fitted in areas like bathrooms, kitchens, and even the laundry room, where traditional laminates would not be a good option due to its susceptibility to being damaged by water and humidity.

The top surface is highly water resistant and allows you to buy time to clean up the spills and mess, keeping the flooring well intact in the interim.

The lower maintenance required for water-resistant laminate floors also ensures that their presence is cost-effective in the long term. They will not need repeated replacing because the damage that they can sustain is very low, making them the more sustainable and practical choice.
